The service, the food, the cocktails and the atmosphere were delightful. A real gem in Ballard, tucked away from the bustle of Ballard Ave. The Sri Lankan/Indian/Raj influences are subtle and well crafted into dishes that cater to the PNW pallet, but still come through and are pretty remarkable. We’ll definitely be back, especially as they take walk ins at the bar w...

All the food was AMAZING. The cabbage dish was surprisingly incredible. I don't normally like mezcal but the cocktail bandra bird was so delicious and the mezcal complemented things so well. Also Anthony the server was so attentive, incredibly knowledgeable, charismatic and helpful. The outdoor seating was really charming. Can't recommend enough and I hope you get Anthony to serve you if you can be so lucky.

An absolute instant favorite. If an aesthetic bar, delicious medium/large sized Sri Lankan/Indian tapas dishes, and excellent cocktails are your thing.. read on. Being immediately captured by warm, colorful, and cozy aesthetic in IG photos, Rupee bar made it onto my list early on while nerding out on new cocktail bar lists in Seattle- and I couldn't wait to give it a try. I've been here three times now and the experience hasn't skipped a beat. The cocktails are delicious and interesting, without being too complex or overdone. I've particularly enjoyed the King Coconut, Gateway to Oaxaca, and the Farmer's Daughter. The food menu is short and often changing, but I've had an incredible love affair in particular with the Lamb Shank (wow), and have enjoyed the Fried Chicken and the Bulgar Salad. I'd say those 3 dishes are plenty for 2 people. I've made reservations each time, which in the past required a non-refundable deposit if you no-show. It now appears to no longer require putting a deposit for your reservation. They indoor and outdoor seating, and from the looks of the availability calendar, you may even be able to walk in and wait for a table. The service and love from the bar have been excellent each time, and we've felt very welcomed and comfortable dining and drinking in the space. I would highly recommend Rupee Bar for a night of cocktails, a dinner date, or anywhere between. Cheers!
