We stumbled upon this place as we were out and about in Ann Arbor, my very first time in this city! My colleague remembered there being a prepared food market here and when we finally found it, they were ready to call it a day. But well, we were welcomed and offered a delightful selection of buns. I really can't say if I liked the chicken better or the pork. They were fluffy and juicy and absolutely delicious. My colleague had also been searching for hot ginger ale around there, and they had it. Just got married and had Chef Ji Hye cater our reception.  So awesome.   Her food was succulent,  delicious,  and hot.   They did such a great job.   Everyone raved about it afterwards.   Thank you so much,  guys!

I had the bahn mi first, and was then surprised to see people review it so negatively. Yes, it was a non-traditional twist on the sandwich, but it was also very delicious. Fresh Zingerman's bread, crisply pickled veggies, warm seasoned meat--how could you go wrong? Next I decided to try the buns, given that people rave about them. I hit up the variety pack of three and tried mushroom, pork belly, and chicken. They were in fact delicious, especially (to my carnivore's surprise) the mushroom. They were not, however, quite enough to make a lunch for this hungry girl after a long morning traveling, which means I ended up spending quite a bit of money to make a meal. I really like San Street. And unlike most of the other Yelpers who've reviewed it, it's because of their kick-ass take on the bahn mi.
