The food... the wine... how could you say which is better? Great vibe and thoughtful service! Can't wait to come back

Serious sanitation problems, they were not wearing gloves or hair nets or aprons in the kitchen. Handling cheese and meats. The pinot noir was 14$ and was hot. I was confused. I like the idea of a wine bar but they need to do better.

Last night's dining adventure lead me to Richmond's historic Fan District, where the motto of this restaurant clearly states, "Drinking the Good Stuff is a Natural Right..." and I, Mr. RVA, am in full agreement. This Chic, European-Style eatery, moved into the neighborhood in 2016, after a successful debut in Carytown back in 2010. Owner and Wine Director, Julia Battaglini's pays homage to her mother, as stylish canvas pictures of her adorn the walls. This is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, an establishment in which you will not only experience amazing cuisine inspired by the culinary expertise and stylings of Executive Chef Julie Heins, but can also choose from a vast spectrum of wines, both foreign and domestic, small-production and terroir-driven Old World. Ladies and Gentlemen of Discovering RVA, I reveal unto you, Secco Wine Bar. . Appetizer- PEI Mussels with slices of housemade kielbasa resting in a warm beer & dijon mustard sauce, garnished with chopped leeks. . Entree- Seared and Sliced Crispy Duck Breast, served with braised fennel, shaved fresh root vegetable salad, orange & olive oil vinaigrette. .
