Shucks never disappoints us. We make Shucks our first meal during our trips to south Louisiana.  Oysters! Shrimp! Salads! Onion rings! Étouffée! Bread pudding! Pecan cobbler.  The beer was COLD.  Waitstaff was friendly, attentive-but not hovering.  If you've never been what are you waiting for?   We can't wait for our December trip to eat at Shucks again.

We loved everything, from the oysters on the half shell to the étouffee to the crabmeat au gratin and all the rest. Our server Tyler was a doll, super kind and helpful to my parents. They were just setting up for live music when we left on a perfect early fall afternoon. Such a treat.

We picked up order and it was cold. I’m not saying like warm, the fries were cold. Shrimp was room temp. We turned the truck around and went back.The server took the food to the back and came back with hot food.What could have been done better? Hmmm, let me think:1. Have the food piping hot when the customer gets it!2. Have the food Piping hot when the customer picks it up!3. Have the food hot, get it!I called the manager but did not get him/her. So I am letting them know now.I am being very gracious to give them a 3 star rating.

Was out of raw or charbroiled oysters. We understood with the hurricane disruption. Ordered the 1/2 and 1/2. Shrimp and fried oystersWas way over cooked.

Food was excellent and fresh! Waitress was attentive and friendly!

They didn't have any oysters but I totally understand about the hurricane so we got ather food which was outstanding and the music "Grits & Gravy " was superb like always

I called on Wednesday and Thursday to reserve a patio table for Saturday. On both days I was told that some tables had been reserved, but they could not reserve all of the tables to allow walk-ups the opportunity to get a table. Excellent service and deliciousness in every bite. Food was well prepared.

Probably would have rated this higher but fir the lack of Covid precautions.  Luckily they have outdoor dining.  The reason we came in the first place. We shared a grilled oyster platter and a grilled seafood platter.  Our server D was extremely friendly and if she had been wearing a mask I would have chatted with her more. Our shared food was delicious. We save the best for our last bite Hubby saved onion rings and I saved the shrimp. Would come again if we through.

I ate the oyster sampler with my children for an appetizer and it was really good. I also had the crawfish etoufee and it was pretty good too.

This restaurant does not follow the guidelines for the pandemic. The place was over capacity and had no masks in sight, at the waiting area, bar, between tables, and outside. There were no sanitary precautions as well. Moreover, barely any of the workers had their masks covering their mouth and noses. I immediately left, so eat here at your own risk.

Service was excellent! Food was delicious. I will be back even tho I will have to drive 3 hours to get here. It’s worth it.

Shucks is the best seafood restaurant in the whole Acadiana area. Plenty food for the price. I've been eating there for years. My favorite is the grilled seafood platter. Everything I've ever tried there is excellent

After sending MY REVIEW from Saturday, Februay 27, 2021 and SHOWED IT WAS ACCEPTED, it's NO WHERE TO BE FOUND!  How strange that a NEGATIVE REVIEW suddenly vanishes! What a joke! So much for reviewing negative on a restaurant!

Awesome is all I can say. Well worth the visit. Can't believe we haven't already been. Sure made a special event exactly that. While y'all at it wish this old Vet (pictured) a special 75th birthday.

Had dinner there last nite, owner Bert Istre came by to say hi, we all had our meals with the exception of one in our party, Bert noticed and asked if he was waiting. Actually this person came in late. I was very impressed that Bert picked up on, excellent management!

Food was amazing !!! But save room for the bread pudding,it's over the top!

I celebrated my Birthday there last nite! Our family has a long history with them. Great memories there and it was always a great experience !

They have the best crab cakes with cream sauce on top! And lots of crabmeat hardly ANY breading! We love the stacker, and the traditional charbroiled oysters with Parmesan and butter! ???? Also the fried fish is superb!! Our food is out fast every time we go!! And we LOVE the service! Our favorite waitress is Cagney!! Ask for her, she is the best!!

sneaking in administration fees on your bill regardless of the tiny sign at the door that suks after how many years? quality and prices going downhill rapidly! shucks is just mediocre now and not worth the drive or price!

Where do I even begin. I ordered my food over the phone. The lady I spoke to was very nice and pleasant because I have never eaten there before nor ever ordered food from there. So I placed my order and was told 30 minutes. I arrived to pick up at exactly 30 minutes and food was ready. A little wait isn’t the end of the world, but I was impressed. When I got home, everything was cooked to perfection and smelled so good. I ordered some crab claws and grilled shrimp. Again...impressed. Everything that I ate was very flavorful. I ate slowly to enjoy just that lol. If anyone has never been, like me, or first time in Abbeville, I definitely recommend. Wow.
