Wow! It was my first experience having Hainan chicken and it was amazing! We ordered the Crispy Hainan and the Fried Wing Plate.The Crispy Hainan was absolutely fantastic. Golden brown and super crispy on the outside and very juicy on the inside. The combination of flavor and texture was wonderful. When you add a bit of the sweet chili sauce to it you will hear angels singing as you eat this bite of food sent from heaven.Speaking of food heaven, the wings will keep you there. The jalapeño lime sauce is perfection. Man, seeing this place fall from grace is pretty tragic. A few years back, when they first opened, their Hainan Chicken was amazing. It was affordable and incredibly tasty and moist. I would've easily given this place four stars then. It was downright the best Hainan Chicken that I've ever had. This was all the way back in 2018 when Side Chick was fairly new. The place was bustling with customers. I would argue that they were better than Savoy Kitchen in Alhambra, which, granted, is still very good, but I believe is a bit overhyped. However, then the pandemic hit and the entire section of the mall in which they were located in was completely closed off.
