Limited food menu but extensive beer menu. Outdoor seating with heaters so you can bring dogs. Friendly staff. Decent fish and chips.

Gayle, Erin, Jim, and I had an enjoyable time at last Saturday's Christmas Fair in Downtown Ridgefield. The bright colored lights and happy folks milling around took the edge off a cold, damp, and rainy day. Considering the weather, we were in the mood for something warm to drink or eat. So we wandered into the Sportsman's Public House. This place is huge and a bit funky, but on the early side of mid-day, there was plenty of room and a few college games on to provide occasional distraction from our conversations. We all had Irish Coffees which were well mixed, generous in the pours, and just the thing we wanted to drink on a day like this. And now that we've done the liquid lunch, maybe we'll actually try some solid food (and live music?) the next time?
