Spring House is the less formal sibling of the Dobbin House upstairs. While Dobbin House is a special event or date night type dining establishment, Spring House is more of a burger and a pint kinda place. As is well documented, the French onion soup steals the show here. It's the only thing that I'd say is a must. The mixed drinks are great too, I especially enjoyed the sangria. Food is just ok, maybe slightly above average. I had an alright crab cake sandwich. I'm just not a huge sandwich person which is most of the menu here so I am partial to the upstairs iteration of the Dobbin House, but for the leas formal among us it is a solid dining option in Gettysburg.

I love this restaurant because it is in the Dobbin house and I enjoy visiting the restaurant and house when I visit Gettysburg like I am now. The service was a bit slow but the food was delicious and made up for it.

Spring house Tavern is the downstairs stone cellar to Dobbin House. The place is all stone, tables are candlelit. The have a huge original wood bar raking up one wall. Such a nice atmosphere and the food is terrific.
