Today was my first visit to Tacos Dona Lena and as soon as I walked in I knew it was going to absolutely SMACK. It has a small, authentic vibe and lots of menu options to choose from. After an anguishing time trying to decide, I went w/ the beef torta and pastor gordita, but I was really curious to try their tacos, sopes, and birria, as well. The food was freshly prepared and SO scrumptious. PLUS they had 6 salsa options to consider. I stuck w/ #2 and #3 (from the left in the picture) and they had sufficient heat without being too uncomfortably hot. The food was super solid - my only complaint was that in the gordita there were quite a few pieces of just solid fat. I know some people enjoy "marbling/fat on their meat, but I prefer lean cuts, so that turned me off a bit. Overall, TDL was seriously good authentic eating. I will return!
