Taverna Cretekou in Alexandria

Ordinarily, I don’t post negative reviews, especially given everything that restaurants have gone through. But tonight was simply unacceptable.Five of us had reserved a table for dinner. We arrived promptly and sat down. The waitress/server then was on top of us all evening. Interrupting conversation, pressuring us to order when we clearly were not in a rush (and the restaurant was not busy) and enjoying catching up as a group of friends. Surly attitude, clearly seemed more annoyed to be there and despite our politeness, the disposition didn’t improve. She began to clear plates when some of us were still eating our entrees and even tried to take a plate away as someone WAS STILL EATING. Again, there was no need to rush us. We were polite. There were plenty of other tables.The final slight was when the bill came. She refused to split the bill saying we could just divide it among ourselves. She then added the tip at 20% to the final bill (and did it on the after tax amount) without warning. When we split the bill, she had already hand written the tip into each of the credit card receipts before we had a chance to sign them or add our own tip.A real disappointment. A lovely dinner ruined by bad attitude and rudeness. We will not go back.

Nice little Mediterranean restaurant with great food and service.

Can't say enough great things about Taverna Cretekou. My wife and I had our rehearsal dinner (for 25 people) here and from beginning to end, the owners and staff were incredible. They were SO accommodating and set up an absolutely beautiful dinner. Not to mention, the food was amazing. They put together a tasting menu for us and everything was delicious. The entire part couldn't say enough about the food. We are truly appreciative and will definitely be back often!
