Thai Elephant Restaurant is a gem in Atascadero. We went in for a late lunch at around 2:30 pm, which turned out to be a great time to go since they weren't that busy. We sat down, ordered our drinks (all of them were served with paper straws except for the boba) and our meals, and it only took them around 9 minutes to bring back hot, delicious, and good quality food. Yeah, you read that correctly: 9 minutes. I think we took longer to eat our meals than it did to receive them, which doesn't usually happen at a sit down restaurant. I got their orange chicken, which had a nice spicy kick to it. Again, they were not that busy, plus it was a party of three and they go on an hour break between 3 and 4. The staff was also incredibly friendly. I don't know if this is the usual service at this place, but what we got was fabulous. They also have neat artwork around the establishment, typically art depicting elephants. I would highly recommend going here if you want good food and service for reasonable prices.
