I got the pizza burger deluxe. It was overcooked and gross. I asked for medium. It was well done and burnt. No flavor! Stick to the gyros.

Excellent food. BYOB. Good size portions. You can have a leisurely meal. Server was very sweet.

The Athenian Cafe is better than ever. Everything I have tried here is good. Yes they offer American burgers and such along with the Greek gems they serve and some reviewers take off marks for that, but this is Altoona with one of the most non-adventurous populations I have encountered in my travels. Most ethnic food places here don't last long if they don't offer the "American" alternative along with their specialties. Other reviewers complain about the decor. Well it's not fancy but it's clean and roomy and I'm not there to eat the tables. Still a few others here complain that the portions are too big!  Really?  They knock off points because you get too much for your money?  Are you kidding me!  Geez, if you can't finish it get a to go box and take the rest with you for lunch the next day. My go to dish are the Gyros which are outstanding. Traditional lamb with that great tzatziki sauce are the best. The more I go there, the more I enjoy them. What they offer you just can't find anywhere better in this town or any nearby and it's a nice change over the many many burger or pizza places in town for lunch or dinner.
