The Fireside Bar & Grill has its heart (and hearth) in the right place. When you enter, you will see what seems like a little bake shop on the left side with enticing pies on display. Continue onwards to the warm and inviting interior and if you are lucky you can actually get a table right next to the cozy fireplace but there is plenty of space at the tables or cozy booths. My friends and I have eaten weekend lunch there about three times this past Fall and it has always been a good experience for us. Most of the waitstaff seems young, but they have been friendly, eager to help and informative. Between my friends and I, we have tried quite a few different things on the menu. Fried chicken livers (yes! - love those and they were excellent), avocado toast with eggs (an "old" food trend by now but still a nice healthy tasty lunch), bison burger (very good - I like it dressed to the max with tomato, pickles, lettuce and onion), fried chicken strips (excellent), northern bean soup (very good - served with sweet corn bread and butter, few things are better on a cold day - they also serve a nice hot chocolate btw), fried cod sandwich (excellent, we were told they cut their own pieces out of whole filets and you can taste the difference) and coconut cream pie to top it all off (nice).
