Meets all my expectations for a great Greek dinner. The salad, served with a chilled fork, is perfectly dressed and the bread, delivered daily from Maryland, is fabulous --warm and crusty. Then the lamb kabobs are cooked to perfection. Wish this place was closer to home so that we could come here often!

Best actual Greek food in Richmond. I read some of the reviews and the people that giving less than 5 stars and claiming to know Greek food have no clue. The one that states dolmades had no oil on it and claims to be Greek obviously doesn't know that oily dolmades are from a can not freshly made. Also some of these people I just want to ask who hurt you. Specially the guy that only gives out 1 star reviews just to be a douche. I've never had a bad meal at this restaurant.

I've enjoy many really good meals at The Greek Taverna. However, I was sadly disappointed in my meal this event. The Taverna chips, usually thin slices of eggplant and zucchini lightly breaded and flash fried, were cut up to 1/2 inch thick and the breading was falling off of the veggies. My gyro platter (ordered to go) was good, but one of the tomato wedges had a huge (1/4 to 1/2 inch across) rotten spot. I may give this restaurant another chance since the food has always been good before this evening. But, the owner or manager needs to instruct the cook on properly and evenly cutting veggies and to QC the food items going onto plates before serving it to customers--or get a new cook. I tried to send a private note to The Greek Taverna vs. calling them out on a public forum, but their website did not offer such an opportunity.
