As a foodie, I'm not too sure what the hype is although I hear eating from the food cart itself in NYC is the very best tasting Halal Guys food. It makes for an affordable lunch, dinner. It tastes okay. The rice tastes artificial for basmati rice. Beef is delicious. An ok meal.

2.5 stars. I wanted to like this place, I REALLY did. I've been waiting for this location to open ever since I moved to Seattle from New York. This did not taste like the Halal Guys in Manhattan. I see a lot of people commenting about the sauce, but the most noticeable difference to me was the quality of the chicken. The Halal Guys in NY chop/shred the chicken into very small chunks so the flavor can soak through more easily. When I ordered the chicken platter, a lot of the pieces of chicken were really big and didn't have much flavor. They actually tasted a bit weird. Also, where's the lamb? Really disappointed that they only have beef and chicken at this location.
