Sorry, but in my estimation the LAB is not what it used to be . My husband & I are locals and have eaten there since they first opened (we remember when that location was the old TS Morrison store!). It’s been one of my husband’s favorite places for years. Went there tonight & it seems like the creativity, quality and quantity for the price has gone down considerably. My husband used to love the sliders- but now instead of 3, they only give you two— and with NO shoe-string French fries or pickled veggies (yep, used to get those. Disappointing to say the least. And I ordered the “beef” nachos... VERY disappointing. Not “beef” as in steak, but ground beef, and that crappy poured on cheese that Applebee’s or some other generic restaurant would use. In a foodie town like Asheville I’m not sure how they get by with this stuff. I guess they figure new to Asheville tourists won’t know the difference... But we will, and we did. Not sure that this will be one of our regulars in the future. Judging by the lack of patrons on what used to be crowded Friday nights, I’m guessing we’re not the only ones.
