Very pleasant place. All were wearing mask. Waiter very on top of things. Very nice for a change.

Ordered from a local grab and go. First time ever. BEST TIME EVER. I don't even care that they forgot our drinks. You can't miss this gem on the coast!

Honestly, good - or even decent - Mexican food was not what we expected to find north of Ft. Bragg, but find it we did. The Purple Rose looks like a little converted house off the roadside north of Mackerricher State Park, but don't let the unassuming location fool you. They've got a fantastic patio, and with a little bit of good timing (sunshine), you'll be able to enjoy comforting meal there. The chips and house salsa set the mood - both were absolutely delicious and fresh. Our server was sweet and we proceeded to order an array of classics, from the chile relleno to enchiladas to my choice, the day's special: fish tacos. When it arrived, I was treated to a succulent piece of fish and an array of fresh ingredients which I used to construct some delicious tacos. After eating chowder for days (that's not a complaint, just looking for some variety), it was nice to enjoy something relatively authentic paired with a Dos Equis. It's adjacent to a neighborhood where many rentals are located, so we'll certainly keep this in mind when we look for a future rental!
