As an out and proud gay man, I can't effectively articulate how excited I was to go to one of the two gay bars located in Alaska but I made it! It's a typical gay dive bar with strong affordable drinks. It definitely had a neighborhood vibe to it and has a pool table, indoor and outdoor areas. Although I was there in March and it was snowing, so I did not enjoy the patio but heard that they remodeled and it was really nice now!

The old Raven is back, I heard that there were new owners of the bar so I went back after almost two years because of covid. Met a new bartender there who I haven't seen before. He was nice guy and attentive. Saw that I was in line for a drink and said he could help me on the other side of the bar. Boy did I miss this place!

The Raven is my favorite bar in the entire city. The owners, Roger and Scotty have updated the place but have kept the heart of The Raven true to its origin. They are both very active in getting to know the patrons and are always friendly. All of the bartenders are awesome and very attentive. The Raven is a safe spot for all. The back patio is one of the best spots in the city for a beer under the summer sun. Pre-COVID, The Raven routinely hosts monthly special events to keep things fresh. 10/10 would recommend this bar to anyone, local or visitor.
