The Rice Box in Houston

Terrible food and no parking.... probably should just close ....    Lots of good Chinese places in the neighborhood..

somehow better and better each visit. My bf is from Houston so every-time we visit we have to get rice box for dinner. Service is always fast and super friendly. Love to sit at the bar and eat while chatting in between and watching anime while my mouth is stuffed with Orange Tofu or General Tso ! Also appreciate the ease when ordering fried rice without Egg to accompany Vegans through the whole menu! Other note worthy options at Rice Box: Nitro Thai Tea, Egg Rolls, Sesame tofu, Salt & Pepper snacks and garlic 4 season green beans *drool*

Let me start by saying that the rice box is really good. That is when they get your order right. I always order veggie fried rice w/a veggie egg roll. When I get that, it's 4-5 stars; however there's been SEVERAL times when my order wasn't correct. Sometimes I'll go back and other times I'll just throw the food away (I usually don't have time to drive back to return the food). This evening my egg roll was chicken, so I drove back to the restaurant and asked for a veggie egg roll. The guy snatched the egg roll out of my hand and threw it in the trash. Very aggressively as if I'd made myself the wrong order. (I could've gone off on him, but I genuinely like the place. Seriously tho... wth) He then gives me a replacement. I get all the way home and guess what... There's meat in it! I get that it's a popular restaurant that is usually busy and mistakes can happen, but the attitude I was shown this evening was disrespectful and 100% unnecessary. Also, most of the time the service is good. It's a shame that this guy took the error so personal and was rude. Would I eat there again? Yes. Will I check my food before leaving? Hell Yes!
