The Rustic in Houston

Atmosphere, music, food, waiter were all on point!  Better brisket than we had the night before at a local all BBQ listed as top rated with a line out the door.  Skip the line and head here!!! Best brisket I have ever had. I don't usually rave about the soft drink but the unsweetened Ice tea was amazing too. Our waiter was beyond attentive.  I've been in the service industry for a long time and he checked his tables but wasn't obtrusive.  Very professional.  We really felt like we were his only table.  I think it may be Phil and we were table 43.  He had an amazing voice too so he should do something amazing with that. The only downsides were the hosts were huddled together like friends gossiping and laughing and made their youth seem unprofessional which is your first impression so I'm glad I don't take those to heart and the banana pudding tasted fake.  It looks amazing but it wasn't Paula Deen has the best recipe for that and I'm betting this place makes a great desert but that one you can pass on. The cocktails looked amazing but we didn't partake. We had the Brisket Tacos and the Cheese Steak and Parm Crusted Mac and Cheese. Perfect late lunch.  I almost want to head over for dinner.

I was kind of disappointed with my experience. Went here with some friends on a Saturday at 2PM for a late lunch. We were looking forward to trying it because we heard good things. We were told they only serve brunch from the time they open-3PM, so we couldn't order off the regular menu. That was a let down. We did see people at the bar getting food off the regular menu, so I was a little confused why we couldn't get it. The food from the brunch menu was good though. It's a really cool atmosphere and they played good music. I will come back when I know I can order off the regular menu.

I've always wanted to try this place since it opened and was not far from my house.  The first time I drove to The Rustic I discovered that they have no free parking.  You must use their valet parking or park in a $15 an hour garage.  Disappointed, I went home and had a frozen pizza.   This time we took UBER to the restaurant.  When we arrived there was some confusion about where to seat us.  We followed our hostess to a seating area...
