this is simply the best Jazz place in town. The musicians are amazing. We always have a blast when we go there. The food and drinks are also amazingly good, better than many restaurants. Highly recommend for date night. The music is so original!

We finally returned to in-person visit, after a pandemic hiatus, to take advantage of the launch of Wednesday "Jazzy Crab" evening. This was our first time trying the dinner menu, as we usually prefer to focus on listening. But of course had to try the crab cakes, and they were as good as advertised. No bread or filler, just big chunks of lump crabmeat in a generously sized cake. A shortened menu from the regular fare, there was still an ample selection including a number of sides. Best of all, the focus remains on the music, so we were given plastic cutlery to minimize noise. The small turnout for this inaugural evening made the atmosphere even more intimate, and we interacted with the stellar musicians and enjoyed an unforgettable evening. No cover charge as part of the Wednesday special, which makes the evening a great value.

This was such a pleasant experience. Our 1st time here and was recommended by my girlfriend when I asked for a nice place to go with great food and good jazz. The Velvet Note Acoustic Living Room, did not disappoint! The ambience was wonderful and quite intimate, the staff and service were excellent. I can't say enough about the food from the Baja Guacamole, their Signature Colossal Lump Crab cake served with Napa pineapple slaw, steak fries and smoky aioli to the Lemon Pound Cake served with Blackberry compote and Lemon Cheesecake Ice cream. Oh my goodness, every morsel was divine. I appreciated the Owner/Chef Ms. Tamara Fuller coming to the stage and greeting everyone and thanked us for coming, she actually welcomed you into her Acoustic Living Room. We had the pleasure of hearing the sounds of The Bill Hart International Jazz Fusion Band, they were absolutely wonderful. Needless to say, we will be back!
