Bottom Line: Overall good experience. Admirable presentation of a huge burger of good juiciness, notable notes among the salad constituents, a stout that seemed more porter'ish. Conscientious waiter. Industrial ambience that's a bit loud. Top Line: Hit up the Toltec Brewing brewpub near Cottonwood Mall for a monthly lunchly get-together. Booths with stratospherically tall back provided a visually secluded spot for conversation. But the music/background noise was loud enough to be mildly intrusive and borderline objectionable. I suspect that the noise level is largely due to the industrial decor theme with lots of hard surfaces to bounce the sound around. So if having a heart to heart convo is your jam, Toltec could prove to be a tough place to stage it. Especially if more crowded than its sparse population during our visit. My partner in crime ordered their cheeseburger and house salad with ranch dressing on the side. Blood orange cider was his libation of choice. It is an exquisitely pretty drink. Since we'd chosen Toltec as our LZ of the month based on their burger reputation, I went for their max'ed out Royale Burger, house salad with balsamic vinaigrette on the side, and a pint of their Shaman Stout as liquifaction.
