Towngate Cafe offers hot and cold-cut sandwiches, bottled drinks, snacks, candy, and daily specials like lasagna and fried chicken sandwiches. The eating area has a TV, WiFi, tables, and small couches to relax or read. Lately I've noticed subtle improvements like better food presentation and all sandwiches coming with a small bag of chips, so the owner might be in the process of stepping things up. She's a very kind and friendly person. I've ordered several different things here and have been mostly satisfied with my meals. Just don't expect anything fancy here. It's not ideal that a lot of the food is microwaved, but I'm guessing it's in an effort to serve customers quickly during lunch. This is the worse cafe to go to. The food is disgusting and even before you walk in the cafe it smells! On top of that the owner charges $ .10 additional on top of the charge rate for chips, juice, and candy plus tax. So don't look at the charge on the bags because you will pay her rate plus tax!
