This evening, January 9th, I called Trattoria Romana, to change our 5:30 reservation from 4 to 2 guests, and to inform the establishment that my daughter and her boyfriend would be 10-15 minutes late. The hostess put me on hold immediately and I waited patiently. However, I finally hung up as she had failed to come back to the line. Upon their arrival, the hostess was rude and stated that they were marked as a no show. Her tone and demeanor lacked grace and kindness, as my daughter attempted to explain my attempted communication. The manager, or owner was privy to this interaction, as he was nearby, but he did not intervene. She eventually relegated the young couple to a back room table, although the main dining room was virtually empty.As my immediate family, relatives and friends had been or are in the restaurant, catering or food services industry, I understand, first hand, that your customer/patrons should be treated with respect. I called Trattoria Romana to address this inexcusable occurrence and the hostess told me that they are a very busy restaurant. This is the explanation for treating a new customer so terribly? There was no goodwill created this evening. Shame on you

It didn't live up to the hype. Food is heavy and the decor dreadful. The waitstaff were wonderful though.
