True Food Kitchen in Annapolis

Wonderful food and caters to allergies. DoorDash gave me an incorrect order and True Food (particularly a manager, Kevin) went above and beyond to make it right. Phenomenal experience overall, even given the hiccup.

The short: Food was tasty, the service was great, and they are good about dietary restrictions like allergies. Thank you Heidi and Kevin for being so friendly and for the great customer service!The Long: At first glance, the items on the menu look strange, particularly when reading what ingredients are used to make them. However, they seem to know what they are doing, because the food is delicious. I was skeptical at first so I asked my server Heidi what she recommended, while also informing her of my allergy to egg and dairy products. She gave a couple recommendations for each section of the menu and was altogether very helpful. I decided to get the seasonal butternut squash pizza and the starter, roasted brussel sprouts and my grandmother ordered the Korean noodle bowl. All of which was very good. Because I love my pizzas to has some spice, when Kevin brought my pizza to the table I asked if I could get some crushed red pepper, which he promptly returned with. When I saw that the quantity of pepper was far too little for me I asked if I could get significantly more as I let out a chuckle because I tend to use far more than the average person. He then said he really enjoyed spicy too and would be right back with plenty more as well as some siracha sauce which he personally recommended. The recommendation was spot on! Thank...

So, my daughter and I visited the restaurant this evening. We arrived around 6:45 and was seated shortly thereafter. We sat chatting, deciding our order, I mentioned the reviews I’d read, etc. We sat, chatted some more. Now, we’re wondering if anyone is gonna serve us. I continued to give the wait staff the benefit of doubt until this…After about 20-25 min, there was a couple that came in and was seated directly behind us. My daughter was facing their table so I told her let’s see how long it takes for them to be served. In less than 5 minutes of them being seated there was a server at their table. We kinda laughed like, are we being punked??? It was unbelievable that we had sat for so long and NO ONE approached our table - not the waitresses that waited the tables on either side of us. Not the guy (in the pink shirt) who was presumably the manager. NOBODY. We were sitting at a table that’s basically in the CENTER of the restaurant!My daughter went to the counter near the bar and she asked the young lady who was the server for our table. I see her point and the young lady refers to our table as table 34 (info for the manager in case you read this review). As my daughter continues the conversation, the manager intervenes stating that the young lady isn’t the manager but he is. My daughter never asked for a manager, was just trying to get info on who the server is. Anyway, because the manager approached the situation in a confrontational manner, and we’d already waited for 30 minutes, we left. Wasn’t a scene or anything like that.
