Our first visit to Tyger Tyger was nothing short of wonderful. The atmosphere was even more cozy and romantic than I was anticipating, so that was a pleasant surprise on Valentine's Day! We are VERY frequent eaters of Sichuan cuisine, and we felt the dishes we tried all had classic flavors with a bit of a twist. The sauce with the green beans was tasty and rich, and the short ribs were absolutely delicious. We weren't massive fans of the rockfish, although I've not really had those flavors before so I appreciated the complexity of the dish - sour/tangy, warm, a bit of numbing spice. I also wasn't a huge fan of the pork belly buns (unfortunate because those are usually my fav) - the flavor was a little flat for me for some reason (though as always I love me some steamed bread haha) Personally, the star of the night for me were the cocktails. Wow they really know what they're doing! I had the If I Had to Choose and it was truly one of the top five cocktails I've ever had :)

Unfortunately for me, the food was too salty for my taste bud. The dan dan noodle came first and from the first bite I could tell how salty it was. Then the pork and chive dumpling came, and I could taste like a 'burnt' taste in my mouth even though I didn't see anything got burned on that plate. I was dissappointed because based on reviews, I was looking forward for a good dumpling and a bowl of noodle. Too bad. On the positive note, the atmosphere was beautiful and staff were friendly!

Tyger Tyger Fried rice had way too much sesame oil and not enough of anything else. Braised Boneless Duck had little bones in it and was very dry. Very disappointing, I hope it isn't always this bad.
