Treated me and my trans wife like common criminals. We gave him no reason. We were dressed up. We did nothing to warrant this rudeness. I can only conclude, based on experience, on transphobia. Won’t go back, which is a shame cause we frequently go to Central Cinema and have the munchies after.

This is one of, if not the best, in Seattle. Period. Exclamation mark, actually! I'm a tea snob, and they steep some of the best you can get (and they do it expertly). It's also the only place to get consistently great espresso (or 'spro + water; my drink is an 8 oz americano). Their product excellence is part thoughtful sourcing, part exceptional service culture--you will not get better attention anywhere else in Seattle. And it's not overbearing friendliness or a "customer is always right" attitude per se. It's authentic interaction with people who care about and like what they're doing. Recommendations are thoughtful, not rehearsed. And, most importantly, you get something tasty, every single time. And that all speaks to wonderful ownership that attracts really good people. What else? They have natural wine, excellent seating, play good (unobtrusive) music...what more could you want? Go here.
