Solid neighborhood cafe, some of the best coffee I’ve had, barista was lovely. Wouldn’t order the cinnamon roll again.

Can't believe I haven't reviewed Uptown Espresso yet! It's located right next to my bus stop for work, so needless to say I come here often. I always think it will take longer than it actually does to get a coffee, since it's a popular spot and the lines can be long, but the cashiers (who are also often the baristas) are efficient and friendly. I'd say my favorite thing about Uptown is that they offer the Café Generra--as others have noted, it's a mocha that comes with fresh orange peel (seriously, it's peeled right in front of you!) Recently I've been ordering mine without chocolate and with oat milk since I'm on a dairy-free journey. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that the orange flavor still shines through and that they'll still add it for you even if you don't order a classic Generra. One of these days I need to try their baked goods selection--the red velvet Madeleines are calling to me. It's also worth noting that Uptown takes its pastries seriously! I once came in to work on a project and found myself sitting at a table with the pastry director! After chatting for a bit he told me he was testing out recipes that day and would love if I could give him my opinion on a few things. Uh...YEAH!...
