Village Inn-Titusville, FL- 4 Stars“O-oh, back on the chain gang (ho-ah)...” – The PretendersAs you might be able to tell from the opening quote if not the name of the restaurant to be reviewed in this post, I am back in chain restaurant mode. Hey, I know it's not for all of us, but enough of us so that it needs to be done. This time my random place generator spewed forth Village Inn located in Titusville, FL.They have establishments in 18 states (including Alaska) with the majority of them in Colorado, I guess stoners like their food? Well, with that many eateries in that many states, they must be doing something right. Pulling into the sparsely filled parking lot, I have to admit, some doubt crept in, but I pushed it aside and entered.The place was clean, friendly, and exuded a homey welcome. As I was taking my seat, Rebecca, the waitress took my drink order. Now that is prompt service! She then proceeded to cheerfully and professionally answer all my questions and then took my order of one Ultimate Skillet, a Short Stack of Pancakes and a Reuben with a side of steamed broccoli.The Ultimate Skillet contained frozen, not fresh hash browns, ham and veggies. However, for a chain restaurant, I am impressed with the execution as it was pulled off flawlessly with perfectly cooked eggs. The flapjacks were a scrunch overcooked, but oh so buttery and...
