Opened my box and the donuts were all over the place. Some mashed next onto the others. Shit packaging. Pieces were all stuck and ripped off. You know how you're just pissed off and you don't even want to eat the crap anymore? That's how it is. It's already overpriced. $20 for half a dozen that I had to pick 1 by one 1 since they actually don't offer a half dozen option.

The sprinkle donut was my favorite. The dough was light and fluffy. The maple bacon was also full of flavor. It's also night that you can drive thru and don't have to get out of the car.

I've only ever had voodoo doughnut in Portland so when I saw there was one in Houston I was pumped to have it a second time. I'm sad to report that I was pretty underwhelmed with the doughnuts here. I tried a couple of their standard doughnuts, the vegan doughnuts, and the seasonal doughnut and all were just sort of meh. They were dry, and besides the fun toppings on the doughnut itself, they lacked flavor. I think so much of the hype for voodoo doughnuts is the novelty, the fun atmosphere, and of course the voodoo doll doughnut, but overall the doughnuts are pretty meh. I'm glad I gave Voodoo a go, and again, nothing replaces the fun of this place, but I'll stick to Hugs and Donuts as my go-to doughnut shop in Houston.
