Voodoo Room in Astoria

I'm not one to leave a review but I was really let down by the atmosphere at the VooDoo tonight. It was a fairly slow when we came in and the bartender was rude!! The Bartender barely greeted us when we came in..... Just Asked us what we wanted, served us a beer and never spoke to us again until he cashed us out. Him and some other patrons were gossiping and complaing about blah blah this and blah blah that... i felt like we were imposing on him for beingthere... The beers were just fine and there wasn't anything wrong besides the first impression. ...We didn't order food but the specials sounded yummy! All in all I will be back but hopefully not when thebearded guy is pouring drinks..

BEST PIZZA ON THE COAST! contrary to recent reviews I must say this place is legit! Old school dark and slightly dated but in a charming way. I came in alone on my way through town and ordered a pie to-go, i Let the young lady running the kitchen make me whatever she wanted and boy did she not disappoint!!! Pepperoni, Pineapple and fresh Jalapeños with oregano. I gotta say I was surprised by how fresh all the ingredients were, most places use little canned  pickled expired in 2008 jalapeño slices but the voodoo room uses fresh cut to order raw Jalapeños. The taste was beyond my expectations. The sauce was delicious and had a nice bite of garlic, the crust was thin and crispy with the perfect amount of chew and that cheese blend they use is amazing paired with the Paperoni. The price was unbatable compared to the other pizza I've had in astoria. The  gal who took my order had the pizza assembled and cooked in under 20 minutes!! Both Autumm and the Bartender were very friendly and didn't hesitate to help me when asking about some of astorias local attractions. This place is a true gem, I hope they pa...
