I am on a Khao Man Gai kick and there's no shortage of Thai restaurants that serves this dish, but out of all of them I think this one is made with a lot of heart and love. This restaurant is off the main strip with a simple menu with helpful pictures. Mark will be happy to answer any questions and offer suggestions...

Good comfort food. Khao man gai was good and simple dish. Will try other dished next time. Good location. Friendly service. Price is quite high compared to other food bigger portion around.

Wann Yen is a hidden gem in the U-district! I've been seeing a lot of Hainanese Chicken (Khao Mun Gai) ($11.95) posts and really wanted to try it. The first thing I noticed in front of the shop was the delicious smells coming from it. The owner is also super friendly and will ask questions about you. I've never tried Khao Mun Gai before so didn't really know what to expect but this place did not disappoint. The chicken, which a lot of restaurants make dry, was very tender. The garlic dipping sauce added a little spicy and flavorful kick to the dish. My friend ordered the pad see ew which was also delicious. One thing I loved about both dishes was that they weren't as oily as other restaurants, which was very obvious on the pad see ew. However, the rose milk tea my friend ordered tasted like bubblegum, which she wasn't a fan of.
