Whistle Stop Tea Room in Tomball

Enjoyed the tortilla soup. Using a sharper cheese in the jalapeño pimento cheese spread would have been better.

At first when you first walk in, your like "ah heck no!" But wait for a seat and trust me, the food is worth it. It's a small restaurant, I mean very small. I ordered the chesse and spinach enchiladas w/ tortilla soup and broccoli salad. The enchiladas and the soup were great. But that broccoli salad.. all it is, is Coleslaw w/broccoli bits thrown in. But I swear to you. It was like they sprinkled crack on it. I mean it was gooood!!.. the blueberry lemon cake is great too. But one day I'll come back just for that broccoli salad. Another thing is, they have weird hours. They're only open for like 5 hours when they are. So you want to go. Plan ahead and check there days and restaurant hours before you go. I was delighted recently when the owner, Cindy, said she would allow me to hold my book club meeting at the Whistle Stop Tea Room.  Although they are in the middle of renovations, Mrs. Cindy was most gracious and honored our club with her presence and delightful conversation and laughter. The food is wonderful and the desserts are of course divine. But the personal attention that she gave us was the crowning touch to a wonderful morning.  We are older ladies that all went to high school together and we had a grand time this morning at this wonderful place.  Thank you so much, it was quite unforgettable!
