People complain how slow this place and how rude the owner/chef is. This place is great, food is delicious and made with love. Bottom line when you come here have patience and enjoy your company.

This was the best restaurant we visited during our trip to Anchorage! The service was friendly, the atmosphere was unique, and the food was exquisite. I ordered the grilled mackerel (fresh caught in Atka) and I can honestly say I have never eaten a better prepared piece of fish. One of my top ten favorite meals of my life.

I ate yamaya seafood last night. It was incredible experience. I never find a place like this in Anchorage. You can feel the Japan atmosphere once you open the slide door. Its only 2 person work. One nice old lady and one guy as a chef. Im order tonkatsu ramen and gyoya. And for take away im order another gyoja and chicken with ginger. Its all good and tasty. The broth was fantastic! And dont rush. The chef cook by him self and believe me its a worth place to try. ♡♡♡♡♡ .
