excellent service, takoyaki were great and the edamame as well. curry was ok but the rice was cold, I'd prefer it hot. skewers were excellent.

Yokushi Robata is a really nice and unique Japanese restaurant in Houston that I like to eat at from time to time when I'm in the area. I've been here a total of four times, and each time I leave full, happy, and satisfied. The small bites are the golden goose here. They're incredibly delicious and come out fairly quickly. Each are marinated nicely (the beef comes with a lime to squeeze on top, and the acid/salt combination is delicious). I would recommend the beef tongue, squid, unagi, and purple yam fries (the beef tongue especially). The ramen, while nothing special, serves its purpose. The spicy tonkotsu is great, but the tonkotsu shoyu ramen was a little too pungently fishy smelling for my liking (it could be because the broth had more fish ingredients in it, but I wouldn't expect that in a tonkotsu, no?). The fishy smell isn't always there though; in the four times I've been to this restaurant, there's only been one time where the ramen smelled fishy. The taste was fine though! The wait staff is really friendly, albeit they do take a little while to come to your table....
