I had really hoped 45th Stop n Shop & Poke Bar would be my go-to place for poke. The quality of fish is pretty good, and I enjoy the toppings. But I've been twice now, with four poke bowls later, and I'm wondering if it's possible for them to get an order right. The first time I was there, I was the only customer in the shop. I ordered two bowls, no fried onions in one, no ginger and edamame in the other. None of the requested omissions happened. But no big deal - we just used our chopsticks to pick out the unwanted toppings. We were there today and there were one or two other customers. Ordered two bowls - same requested omissions and more importantly one spicy, one regular. We get home and find there's edamame in both, and fried onions in both. And both came spicy. My husband can't tolerate spicy things so unlike the first instance when we could just pick out what we wanted, we couldn't remove the spicy sauce from his bowl. Everything was covered in the sauce. I may give this place a third shot but there are a few other poke places in the area so I'll prob give those a try first before returning.
