My partner and I came for lunch and we stood quietly in front of the podium for 20 minutes waiting for a single employee to merely acknowledge us. We understood they were busy at the time while we waited patiently but several employees walked by us, avoiding eye contact each time, not even saying “someone will be with you shortly” or anything at all to us. When I tried to catch one walking by I said “excuse me” but she breezed by and continued to ignore us. With everyone else in the lobby staring at us, we left feeling absolutely humiliated. I have some rejection related trauma from my childhood so this is a very painful memory for me.

I can't think of any other restaurant that I've ever been to that does things quite the same was as Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant. Their basic premise is based on "Bucanomics". That is, they have pre-determined how many people each of the portions they offer will serve, choose a price per person for that size (sm or leg) and that's what you pay.
