Alright first let me start by saying that this is my ultimate top favorite sandwich spot in the neighborhood. The food is delicious and I love the ambiance. Any other day I would give this local spot a 5. We were staying in a nearby hotel as our family member underwent surgery. Second day after the snow storm, so I TOTALLY and fully understand needing to leave home early to commute in the snow. We placed a food order at about 3:00pm, told it'd be ready in about 30min - $140 worth of food, as this was one of the few places open. When we arrived at 3:45pm the place was closed. A phone call letting us know they were closing would have been helpful. we do hope everyone had a safe travel home in the conditions we were in.

Came for brunch. The inside is super cute. There were a good number of vegetarian options which I liked. I ordered the veggie scramble. It was pretty good but nothing super special. A very basic brunch meal.

It is nice to have a byrek store in U-District. Byrek & Baguette was closed for almost a year due to the pandemic. The prices on Maps are not up-to-date. Even the prices on the store window are not up-to-date! (For your reference: A byrek is now $6.25.) Another reason for giving 4 stars is, the waitress put a "reserved after 12" tag on my table immediately after I sit, which was like shouting "you have 1 hour and 45 minutes!" It would be less rude if she just verbalized it.
