The original Carrabba's is known for good food and friendly servers, as well as very pricey food for what is essentially a plate of pasta. The food is always good when I come here, but someone's order is usually screwed up guaranteed - inevitably it is my order. Tonight was a repeat performance when I came for dinner with my family. I kept it simple this time and ordered a pizza with pepperoni and prosciutto while the three members of my family ordered pasta dishes. When the food came out, the pastas were as expected but the pizza had no pepperoni. No problem, said our waiter, we'll just add some pepperoni to the pizza and pop it back in the oven. The "new" pizza arrived when my family was about halfway done with their meal but the pizza was awful - it had been cooked so long the pepperoni was brittle and could crumble like bacon bits, and the crust on the bottom was blackened and hard. There evidently is no quality control or review before orders are delivered, even when it is a "redo." I was offered a third chance but I declined as my family would be finished with their meals by the time yet another attempt would arrive. A manager came over and apologized and offered a free dessert as well as a to-go pizza on the house. The dessert was good, and now that I am home I am still hungry but left with a cold pizza to warm up in the microwave. Carrabba's - The Original on Kirby NEVER disappoints. This location is the best in Houston. Excellent service, delicious food and great atmosphere. My favorites are the Pasta Weesie and my absolute newest favorite is an off the menu item called the Osiel.
