Chang's Garden in Arcadia

We went for lunch again yesterday and tried a couple of new dishes, so we wanted to update our previous review because we enjoyed our meal so much. Again, everything was cooked perfectly but now, we have a new favorite dish, their Soybean Paste Fish Filet. On an older version of the lunch menu, it was called Fish Filet with Hot Bean Sauce. It is similar to the sauce for Ma Po Tofu and it had tons of yummy garlic with a touch of spiciness and sweetness that was great with the fish. We also had the Sauteed Big Pea Leaves and the Baby Bamboo and Bok Choy with Pork (though we asked them to remove the pork), both of which had a traditional light, mild garlic sauce and complemented the spicier fish dish. We also tried the Preserved Cabbage with Fish Filet but it was a milder version of the typical boiled fish with rattan pepper (qing hua jiao yu). It was a little spicy but not as spicy as we find at local Sichuan restaurants, so when we're in the mood for that dish, we'll order it elsewhere next time. We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken to go for our son and although he liked it and it was cooked well, we prefer other restaurants for that dish too. We loved how fresh everything tasted and the lady serving us was friendly and helpful. We're already planning to return next week.

Best Chinese food on this side of town. Worth the drive.

We were a large group (8 people) with young kids, and the wait staff was so attentive and sweet! They brought paper plates for the kids. We sat outside on their patio and ordered from both Chang's Garden and pork buns/custard buns from Cheeky Cheeky Bun Bun. Food was great and service was very friendly.
