Food was good except the queso. The queso tastes like pure velveeta cheese with extra orange food coloring and a little too much cilantro in the green sauce! The staff was very nice in fact they had a few people from our closed down casa ole so it was nice to see a familiar face! All in all it was very good, just tweek the queso!

We were craving some good Mexican food one afternoon and being very indecisive about where to go...somewhere new?, somewhere we've been too? .. so many options in the area. We finally decided on Chavez Mexican Cafe...and it was money!! We went mid-afternoon so there wasn't that many people eating. We were quickly greeted to our seats, drink orders taken, and the chips/salsa on flow! The menu is quite extensive but I figure I stick to my usual beef fajitas and the misses got enchiladas. Both were... EXCELLENT! Probably the best I've had around Houston. I loved the freshly made tortillas!! The prices were excellent, service was excellent, portion was great, it was clean inside, you can't go wrong!! Definitely a family owned business so please consider coming here on your next Mexican food craving.
