We went for a special birthday dinner yesterday. Made reservations via OpenTable informing them of our occasion. While decor here was beautiful, our wait staff's behavior was deplorable! Two wait staff appeared on our table (didn't explain their roles) just tried to sell us expensive Wagu & rib eye steaks from get go - which we got. They suggested seafood & we ordered. I must mention, ceviche as an appetizer was really amazing! After that, our steaks appeared with literally one scallop on each steak & cream sauce generously poured over the steak. Why top a good quality steak with white cream sauce????  just killed the original flavor of the steak. When we mentioned the cream sauce has cooled down the steak, there was no smile, words or explaining. The front desk staff or manager in a gray suit who was walking around the restaurant, stared at us & left without asking what was the issue with the food. Their wait staff seems to be trained in some cafeteria style. No conversation or explaining items on the menu. Just salesmen with weak follow through. They pointed to items in the menu, picked up entrées from the nearby kitchen counter & place it on the table - That's i...

So disappointed! I was told by the waiter that they had the best steaks in Texas!  He made a big story about the quality and then he asked whether I wanted the Wagyu or dry aged steak?  So I said how much..he said $75 for the Wagyu and $120 for the dry aged...ok! Super expensive but if he says best in Texas, let's roll the dice..went for the $75 steak! I get it, and it's dry and not very impressive, tried to get me to put some spicy vegetables o...

I wanted to plan a nice private dinner to celebrate the 80th birthday of a dear friend. Gianfranco made it easy! He recommended we use the La Paz room. It was perfect. The Birthday Girl was thrilled with how intimate and beautiful it was. The service was impeccable, and the food was all so wonderfully delicious!!! All the guests raved about it. We ordered several different appetizers ahead of time. The favorites were the assorted empanadas and the pork lollipops. We also ordered an entire chocolate tres leches cake as a grand finale. Oh my! It was out of this world!!! I highly recommend using Sal y Pimienta Kitchen for private celebration dinners.
