I have to say that it is one of the most delicious rolls in town, I ordered the dragon roll and its combination of flavors was excellent. My friend ordered ramen and she said it was good, not so amazing but very tasty. We have little time to see all the places, but the recommendations we have received so far have been excellent..

I'm very glad to see that IYA not only survived the pandemic shutdowns (through take-out orders) but also appeared to be thriving now that UMass has reopened for in-person classes - Amherst town center was bustling with students and parents! It's been a year-and-a-half since we ate there last and we looked forward to IYA's ramen. It did not disappoint despite the hiatus! My daughter had the Tokyo-style ramen and enjoyed it very much; my wife had their vegetarian ramen (which included a veggie broth ... and also an hard-boiled egg - which can be omitted if you let your server know) which she thought was one of the better veggie ramen she's had (it's hard to deliver that umami-ness with a vegetable-based broth). I saw a new type of ramen on the menu - roasted duck - and had to try that. It comprised of savory-sweet shredded duck meat, a tasty rich broth, and nicely springy noodles.
