I ordered the Black Mesa and LVL5 salad. The black Mesa has good balance between the bourbon and sweetness. It's sweet, but not overpoweringly sweet. I like how refreshing it is. I'd definitely recommend it. The salad was a bit tart for my liking, but not bad. If there were 1/3 less dressing, I'd enjoy it a lot more.Service was amazing.

Great view looking over Albuquerque and great drinks

The decor is very spare -- Chacoan indeed -- though the view is great. The service was not crisp, but it would have been fine for the cocktails-and-appetizer crowd the restaurant currently attracts. Perhaps that's because the entrees seen a bit pricy. The cocktails and starters were terrific! The entrees... somewhat less so. My wife's filet mignon was not rare as ordered except in the very middle suggesting a hasty cooking over a too-hot fire. My rack of lamb was medium rare as ordered, but it was coated in salt. I wished I had asked them to omit the finishing salt. The fried artichoke heart appetizer was also very salty but was otherwise spectacular. It seemed to be made from fresh baby artichokes blanched and then deep fried -- I'd order it again in a minute. Our bottle of wine was about twice Totalwine's retail price which is not at all high. All in all, there plenty to love at Hotel Chaco's Level 5!
