Maggie's On the Prom in Seaside

Scallops were pretty raw. Too much money for that. Steamers were good. Chocolate desert was awful.

For a place that boasts 5 courses I was really let down by the quality of the food. I ordered the vegetarian turkey feast for 1, it was a lot of food but when my main risotto came out, it was more like an oatmeal or stuffing than something creamy. It was really un-appealing and tasted awful. I couldn’t eat it and returned it. Really disappointed at the quality and when I told the waiter, he really didn’t offer to remove it from the bill or get his manager. For what your paying for price wise I expected more and service was mediocre.

I'm a single mom of three who needed a little love in my life, and a vacation. It was Father's day, and I booked a room at the Seaside Oceanfront Inn. Maggie's on the prom was ESSENTIAL in making my time beautiful. There are so many wonderful things about the staff here. First, the staff came in early to accommodate my last minute request for hand dipped chocolate strawberries and champagne in the fridge, and even better, I have serious dietary restrictions. I'm actually typing this review waiting for a cat scan of my intestines, sitting in the hospital. I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of my date, and there is an option to email the kitchen staff through their website. Remember, it was Father's day dinner, I was last minute, and the chefs had their hands full, but STILL the wonderful waitress knew me as soon as I walked in, and she remembered everything. I had to say I can't have this to so many items, I figured whatever plate appeared was what I was going to get. Not so. The chefs are magic, I will never understand how they did it, but I had CHOICES!!! WHAT? REALLY? . I had the most phenomenal coconut jasmine rice with a steak and wild mushroom gravy, made from no ingredients that usually make gravy, but I'm a sucker for sauces, and I didn't really expect that to be possible, but it was. Now I understand completely why this is the restaurant for Prom dinner. I have to say, the kitchen and wait staff made me feel more special than my date!!!  Thank you. Everything except my date was perfect, and it was a magical time thanks to the staff at Maggie's on the Prom. Next time I find a worthy date, I will be back. Maybe forget the date. They make kitc...
