In the middle of downtown Aspen, this Italian restaurant is always packed, friendly staff and the food is pretty good, we ordered calamari, fig salad, chicken parmesan, and linguini wild mushroom w pancetta, the calamari I was a bit disappointed on was expecting freshly batter calamari they aren't your usual calamari with tentacles and rings but instead it's like calamari steaks gave a 4/5, the salad was good 5/5, chicken Parm the spaghetti were a bit over cooked and the sauce tasted like it was out of a can and had the "raw" taste I think if it would been cooked longer it might got sweeter and tastier, the chicken breading was good(not sure if pre battered) 3/5, the linguini was a bit disappointing the "wild" mushrooms were not what I was expecting but just regular button mushrooms( I would expected shitake, porcini or something similar) the flavor was not there, it was bland , I was expecting to taste some herbs with the mushrooms which it would of also added color to the plate(pasta and the sauce were really close in color). Over all the service was good, just a note to the bartender (tall guy with a beard) he was complaining and saying that he had his own order to take care With an annoyed tone to one of his co worker of and was being a bit loud about it, there was no need for that.

We had a great experience at Mezzaluna! Their waiters were very friendly and attentive, the food was great, and the patio was dog friendly - they have giant dog bowls outside the restaurant and will bring you a small one if you're dining on the patio. COVID-19: they also followed COVID protocols well, with social distancing between tables and masks required
