Rendezvous in Asheville

My wife and I had a phenomenal experience here tonight. Our server was on queue at every moment, while at the same time giving us space and not rushing us. We were greeted almost immediately at our table, and our drinks, apps, and entrees were timed impeccably for a very relaxing and enjoyable evening. My only regret is that I don't remember his name to say thank you in this review. And then the food... We couldn't at the time, and still can't, stop talking about it. The mussels were cooked perfectly and just melted in our mouths with such flavorful sauces. The daily special "steak gnocchi" was one of the most decadent dishes we have ever tried. And the steak au poivre was to die for. Thank you so much for this experience. We will be back!

Enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal solo at the bar- totally not loud and very cozy. Paul-was managing the bar and did a proper job of presentation and serving of dinner. He was a amiable, pleasant and simply wonderful! I stated with a few French martini’s and moved onto the lobster ravioli- decadent and full of lobster- creamy creamy sauce! Next- escargot en croute- sizzling hot and the perfect way to fish out the delicacy- simply put the fork in and the escargot rolls perfectly atop the pastry and then into your mouth perfection! Had to sop up the wonderful herby garlic butter with the complimentary baguette! Main course was the cordon bleu-only $22!!!- and … it had the most amazing crust! Tonight was our first time at Rendezvous. It did not disappoint in any way whatsoever. Clearly Front House Manager Aja J. is on top of her game in creating an excellent ambiance for a delicious meal. The staff was attentive and yet not too much so. Food arrived quickly and was so good:  sweetbreads and pommes frites for appetizers, beet salad, bacon greens, shepherd's pie, duck ravioli and crab cake! Excellent wine and beer as well. We finished it off with creme brûlée and are now home and stuffed to the brim. After almost two years of rarely eating anywhere but home this was truly an evening to remember. We will return.
