Best meal since March 2020. I have been returning to in-restaurant dining slowly over the last couple of months and the experience has been uneven. Restaurants are clearly struggling to get up off the mat - every dining experience I have had to remind myself to be patient and flexible and supportive no matter how glitchy the service or over or undercooked the food may be. And then we went to Serafina. From the moment we arrived the experience was perfection. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and efficient and friendly even as we dithered in our decisions and made her come back a couple times before committing to our order. The pastas were terrific - particularly the bucatini carbonara. The broccolini antipasti was perfectly cooked and accompanied by wonderful flavors from ricotta and lemon rinds and some burnt paprika accents. The focaccia was simple but also wonderful. The bistecca and the halibut were huge hits and the flourless chocolate cake divine. Cannot recommend highly enough. We are out back on the patio on a gorgeous Seattle evening (temp in the 70s, three days removed from the heatwave of 2021 with high temps of near 110.)
