Silver City in Aspen

Stopped in here recently after dinner in Aspen and had a very bad experience with the bouncer, who was extremely rude for no reason. My husband and I were with our 21-year-old and her 22-year-old boy friend and as soon as we walked in, the bouncer said, "Don't even bother taking your ID out if it's fake - I'll call the police." He never said "hello", just went right into attack mode, even though everyone was of age and had proper ID. When my daughter showed her legal, 21-year-old driver's license, the bouncer immediately declared it as FAKE and demanded additional identification. She took 3 different cards out of her wallet, all with the same name on her ID, and he said that wasn't good enough. He asked her for her passport, which she didn't have since we were traveling DOMESTICALLY, and then asked her for a PHOTO of her passport, which she also did not have. He then said he was calling the police to scan her ID because he thought it was FAKE. Again, IT WASN'T! After waiting for at least 20 minutes for the police to get there, our mood was spoiled and we didn't even want to be there any longer, so we asked for the ID back so we could just leave. He refused and said the police had to come since it was probably fake. He. made it sound like she was going to be arrested, even though we knew that wouldn't happen since her ID was legit. My husband spoke with the manager to tell him that his bouncer was being very rude and unreasonable and the we just wanted to leave, but he really could not have cared less and told us to work it out with the bouncer. Great venue for live music. Close to bus station if someone in the group wants to dip out early to head down valley

We arrived in aspen at 8:30pm. No place to eat without reservations but silver city was open. We were hungry and started with the pretzels but realized we were not going to find a restaurant that late and ordered grilled cheese sandwich and chicken tenders. I was happily surprised. Service was great. Price, well is Aspen.
