I'm usually hesitant about Chinese restaurants outside of Chinatown (is it good/expensive/authentic?), but Wula Buhuan was on my bookmarked Yelp list for a while. My bible study group made a reservation for the two big circle tables with the lazy susans to celebrate Chinese New Year last weekend (per my suggestion to avoid the craziness of Chinatown for the holiday), and we had a great experience. Our waitress was so sweet and very attentive. My table ordered 8 dishes (eggplant, amazing fish, boiled fish, green beans, walnut shrimp, general tsos chicken, crispy chicken cube, cumin lamb). Eh. Maybe it was my fault ordering 45 minutes to closing. It seems like they gave us all the left over bites and pieces from the day. Chicken wasn't edible. We did really enjoy the dumplings. The flavors were there so said to myself that I would try again. It's just very unfortunate that my first experience didn't knock it out the park.

If you like bland food, mediocre quality chicken, and mushy rice then this is the place for you. Easily one of the most dissatisfying meals I've had in my life. With a 4.5 star rating I was expecting top notch. I wish I could get my money back to be honest.
